Havik was began as five solo artists: Rayne, Secrets, Lost Angel, Stak, and Ness Rhyme. After intially meeting in 2006 on http://www.btnhboard.com/ (BTNHBoard), the five often collaborated with one another and featured on each other's projects. Secrets, Lost Angel, Stak and Ness Rhyme eventually decided to become part of Rayne's JnC Records. In 2007, Rayne proposed the idea of "Havik" to the four and after a mutual agreement, the group was born.
In September of 2008, the group proudly released their first album, The Road Ahead, on BTNHBoard. Quickly gathering a following, the group immediately went to work on a sophmore project.
This second album/mixtape saw the group's first collaborations outside of their circle in JnC Records. One track, "Blown Away", was produced by and featured a verse from Flosja, a fellow up & coming artist. Another track, "Another Like I", featured a member of Florida's underground rap group Downbottom by the name of Troublesome. The project was finally named Feel The Vibe, borrowing the title of one of it's songs. Released June 16th, 2009, the album saw strong differences from it's predecessor. Namely, the absence of Stak from a majority of the material, and less involvement from Ness Rhyme. Still, the combination of Rayne, Secrets and Lost Angel proved to hold strong as the base of the group's sound. The three held their own on their second album, which spawned the hit singles "Turn 'Em All Out" & a hip-hop rendition of "Mr. Cellophane".
After the release of Feel The Vibe, the group once again returned to work. Stak finally returned to active participation in the group shortly after the album's release and eagerly began several songs for the group to make whole. Rayne and Lost Angel became the known go-to-guys for the group, having entered a contest on Youtube hosted by Young Blaze and recieving more attention on a wide scale. The two brought further light to the group in the fall of 2009, joining Thee Almighty S.P.A.W.N., Eclipse! of U2DK, Cyrano Esq., and VBL on S.P.A.W.N.'s Remix of Tech N9ne's "MidWest Choppers 2". This collab created several collaboration opportunities for the group. Eventually Havik managed to reach out to Cyrano Esq. and recorded a track together entitled "Dream Life".
The group's third and upcoming project, The Third Lane, has produced 30+ tracks to date. The epic project has taken over a year and is now finally nearing completion. It will be the group's first album without Ness Rhyme as an active member. During the making of the project, the group united for the first time in person for their first live performance in Raleigh, NC @ The Pour House in January of 2010. In February, Rayne, Stak, and Lost Angel relocated to Baltimore, MD, reuniting once again. The group performed live @ Baltimore's Club Reality among other local acts such as Reina Williams, and The Bangladesh Project with several peers in attendance including then-collaborator, Cherri Lala.
Currently, Rayne and Stak are in Couer D'Alene, Idaho promoting the group, while Secrets and Lost Angel remaining in Germantown and Baltimore, Maryland respectively. The Third Lane, slated to release December 3rd, 2010, promises to be the group's best album to date and will undoubtedly once again ask the question, "What's your status?"
